Here’s an uncomfortable truth: You should be embracing AI, not demonizing it.

This not to say you shouldn’t be cautious and conscious to how it works and how you can use it ethically, because you definitely should.

This is simply to say that, as a copywriter, you shouldn’t be dismissing any new technology that potentially changes the way you work and affects your ability to find work.

Here’s the most important reasons to integrate AI into your copywriting workflow.

AI isn’t going anywhere

It can be understandably scary to witness the rapid development of a new technology, but fear won’t stop its progress. AI is the future and those who survive it are those who adapt.

AI tools are currently being used in many industries, from healthcare to finance, and for good reason: AI is powerful and can support people in a variety of ways. Copywriters too!

A good AI tool can save you time and help you create a more efficient copywriting workflow. It can automatically generate copy ideas, provide insights on how to optimize content for search engines, suggest synonyms or phrases to increase the readability of a text, among many other tasks.

This shouldn’t be such a novel concept for many writers. If you use tools like Grammarly to check your work for errors and typos then guess what? That’s AI! These newer AI tools are simply more developed to support more kinds of tasks.

The bottom line is that AI tools are not going anywhere anytime soon — so copywriters should embrace them instead of running away from them. It might take some time while adapting to these new technologies but they will eventually become second nature and help you achieve better results faster than ever before.

If you don’t use it, your employer/client will

As technology continues to develop, more companies are turning to automated solutions to complete tasks that were traditionally done by humans.

From a business perspective, it makes sense. AI tools can provide cost-effective, accurate and efficient results. As such, more employers and clients are starting to expect copywriters to be familiar with the use of AI tools and apply them properly in their writing projects.

For instance, an employer may want you to produce content that is tailored specifically for SEO. In this case, should already be able to leverage AI-powered keyword research tools in order to identify the most relevant keywords for your material. Similarly, natural language processing (NLP) tools can be used by copywriters to ensure their text reads naturally and follows proper grammar guidelines.

More than that, AI can also help create personalized content that is tailored towards specific target audiences and marketing channels.

For better or for worse, it has become increasingly important for copywriters to embrace AI tools if they want to remain competitive in today’s job market. Employers and clients now expect specialists in this field not only to have a good understanding of writing techniques but also an advanced knowledge of how AI works and how it can be applied in order to maximize results.

If you don’t use AI, then your competitors definitely will — so make sure you stay ahead of the curve!

Your writing process can benefit from it

AI-powered tools can save copywriters a great deal of time, as the technology can quickly scan through large amounts of data for insights that would take a human much longer to unearth.

On a basic level, AI tools can help you eradicate ‘blank-page syndrome.’ If you have a dreaded short deadline on your hands and a blank Word document, AI tools can help you get started by giving you copy suggestions or even ideas on how to get started.

But AI tools can also provide valuable feedback on how to optimize content for SEO, helping to boost organic search rankings and visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs). Additionally, AI tools can suggest synonyms or phrases that will increase the readability of texts, making them easier and more enjoyable for readers.

Such kind of support can cut down the time it takes you to write copy for your employer/client.

You should not only understand how these AI tools work but also utilize them intelligently in order to maximize their effectiveness. This helps ensure that your writing process is as efficient as possible while maintaining quality at all times — something that’s essential for any successful copywriter.

I don’t believe AI can replace copywriters (not yet, anyway), but I’m convinced that they can support your writing process immensely.

Conclusion

Copywriters should recognize the potential benefits that AI offers and embrace these new technologies instead of running away from them. Not only does this show employers and clients that you are up-to-date with the latest advances in technology but also demonstrates your willingness and ability to stay ahead of the competition!

TLDR: Don’t demonize AI— Embrace it! (You kinda have to)
